Coaching

Coaching:  Coaching is he process where we motivate, encourage and facilitate your journey of self-discovery through creative awareness, achieving of goals and a balanced lifestyle.  It is a partnership (an alliance) between the Coach and the Individual in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the individual to maximize personal and professional potential.  It is designed to facilitate the personal, professional or spiritual growth and development through the implementation of strategies to reach identified goals.  Through the coaching process, individuals can deep their learning, improve performance and enhance quality of life.  We provide career, health. life and parent coaching.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy:  Individuals have issues or challenges that they struggle with at various time in their lives.  Your interpersonal environment (friends, family, peers, work, social)influence how you feel, behave and think.  Individuals seek help with difficulties such as psychological distress, interpersonal conflicts and a lack of support system.  Psychotherapy can help you explore challenges in life, view problems and challenges from a different perspective, give you the opportunity to reflect on your situation, gain personal growth, develop a better understanding of things, express your dilemmas and help you to eliminate any obstacles in your life’s journey so that you can gain meaning in your life, heal and achieve a healthy and productive lifestyle. 

Approaches to Therapy The therapeutic approaches used are diverse and unique to the individual's need.  We use short or long-term therapy which can include the following approaches: Adlerian Psychology, Brief-Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy and Art.   Whatever the challenge, and despite the therapeutic approach that is used, the goal is to provide a collaborative environment that is positive and supportive which gives you the courage and strength to create balance, change, growth and hope in your life that is long lasting.

Assessment

Assessments:  psychological assessment can assist in understanding an individual’s symptoms, ways of coping, identify behavioural/emotional problems (anxiety, depression, adjustment) and problems in living.  It evaluates an individual’s overall mental health functioning and develops a treatment plan for psychotherapy.  Psychological assessments include: adoption, immigration, disability, motor-vehicle accidents and WSIB injuries.  An educational assessment is a comprehensive assessment that provides information about an individual’s intellectual, cognitive and academic functioning, strengths and weaknesses, also  behavioural and emotional issues.  It includes intelligence and academic testing, can answer questions about struggles at school, attention problems, giftedness, and learning problems.  Recommendations and accommodations can be made to assist with any struggles and achieving educational goals.  Assessments are conducted under the supervision of a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Telehealth

DISTANCE SERVICES:  Distance Coaching and Psychotherapy can be useful for individuals who are travelling for business or vacation, students away at college/university, you have physical limitations or challenges preventing you from leaving your home, and people who reside in areas where they do not have access to psychotherapy services.  It is suited to individuals 18 years of age and older.  Distance Psychotherapy is not crisis therapy; it is not for every person (i.e. you are feeling suicidal, you engage in self-cutting behaviour, you have an eating disorder, serious substance abuse issue, severe post-traumatic stress symptoms or you have been diagnosed with a psychiatric illness such as major depression, schizophrenia).  If you are in crisis or suffer with a mental illness, please call your family doctor, a distress centre or crisis line by dialing 211, visit the emergency department of your local hospital, or dial 911 .  If you feel that Distance Coaching or Psychotherapy may be helpful for you, please feel free to contact us.
