Career Assessment

"If you don't like something, change it.  If you can't change it, change your attitude".  ~ Maya Angelou

The choice of a job or career path can be a challenge and complex for many people, and adults may change jobs or career at a later time in life.  A career assessment will assist you with learning more about yourself, your interests, strength, personality and values.  It will begin with a career assessment which includes completion of career inventories. You will identify your personal abilities (skills, aptitude), transferable skills, personality preferences and career interests which can be beneficial to you when making a career decision.  We will meet after the assessment has been completed to discuss the results of the inventories, and you will be provided with a written report.  At this time, any questions you have will be answered.

Adolescent and Youth
I work with the adolescent and youth to provide guidance pertaining to their uncertainty about the type of educational program or career best suited for their personality, abilities, interests, values, career goals and future. I will start with educational, academic, interest and abilities testing to assist in identifying your strengths. Then, I will have a feedback meeting to discuss the testing as well as explore possible educational programs and careers that are compatible with your values and strengths.

Sometimes older adults have made the decision or is thinking about changing careers or jobs as they no longer find their career or work suitable or interesting. They may require assistance to figure out the next step or what direction to take in their work task of life. The process is similar to the work I do with adolescents and youth, i.e. testing and then a feedback meeting which includes a discussion of careers and jobs for exploration.
